COVID-19 Updates

We hope this message finds you well. As a valued DOSM patient, we would like to update you on our office’s current response to the COVD-19 outbreak. Please know that your health, the health of our employees, and the health of the greater Danville community are of paramount importance to us.

During the national emergency called by the president of the United States, we will be closely following the guidelines set forth by the local, state, and federal governments. We are instituting recommended best practices for our clinic regarding cleaning/disinfecting, patient distancing, and limiting physical contact. We are also endeavoring to limit the number of employees, patients, and providers daily to limit potential exposures.

Although the current evidence suggests that the virus is rarely fatal to young patients, many DOSM patients fall into the more susceptible age group of people over 60 years old. We take seriously the threat this virus poses to our patients who are immune compromised and we want to limit the potential spread of the virus to the most vulnerable people in our community. The Surgeon General and the governor of Kentucky have both recommended limiting elective surgeries as well as limiting non-emergent office visits. In this spirit, we have decided as a group to limit office visits to patients who are in the immediate post-operative recovery period, fracture treatment, and extremity infections in need of surgical care. We are also going to be limiting surgical care to only time sensitive non-elective type of surgeries.

We want to formally thank you for trusting us with your orthopedic care. We know these measures are extremely inconvenient and we are truly sorry. We want you to know that your health and well-being are of utmost importance to us and we look forward to resuming business as usual when this temporary emergency has passed. We established this Facebook page to deliver the most current information and we will be staffing our phones during usual business hours. We look forward to working with you in the future to treat your bone and joint conditions.

Thank you again for your understanding in these matters.

Sincerely,

DOSM Physicians and staff
