What do Physical Therapists Do?

Physical Therapists manage conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and osteoporosis; joint and soft-tissue injuries such as strains and sprains, fractures and dislocations, workplace injuries, and sports and activity injuries such as overuse and trauma. PTs are professionally educated at the college level and are required to be licensed in the State of Alabama.

Therapists take patient histories, conduct systems reviews and perform tests and measures to identify potential and existing problems. PT’s provide interventions based on their judgments about diagnosis and prognosis, working closely with the referring GPA physician.
